Install Apache+PHP+MySQL on Windows is not so easy. You need to setup each software manually to get the server running well. For lazy people who don't want get confused by the configuration (like me) there are many software installation that let you install the three component just by clicking the wizard.

Below some software that I ever used

1. Xampp
I use this software right now. The size is smaller than apache2triad. The program is update periodic. Except for Windows the program also come for Linux.

2. Apache2Triad
The size is very big (about 100 MB) but the component is complete. Except Apache, PHP, and MySQL, there are phyton, phpmyadmin, and another program. Unfortunately there is no update for this software right now.

3. PHPTriad
Old bundle Apache PHP MySQL installation. The size is smallest than the other software because it just contain old version of Apache, PHP, MySQL. This is the first software that I used on Windows. But now I don't use it anymore because the software has not been update again.

I just realize that I can run site that using rewrite url from .htaccess using XAMPP server. For example clean url on Drupal or permalinks on wordpress. After checking the rewrite_module is not active on XAMPP server. So below the tutorial how to active it.


1. Go to instalation folder of XAMPP %intstalasi_xampp%\apache\conf\
2. Open http.conf with notepad atau your favorite text editor
3. Find sentence LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so
4. Remove #
5. Save the file
6. Restart XAMPP server

After that you can run .htaccess with rewrite-url or clean url on drupal or permalinks on wordpress.

If you are using wordpress engine as your blog (not hosted blog on wordpress) maybe you need to upgrade the engine with the newest version of wordpress. To do that is very simple. But it's necessary to backup you database and script first before update. If you have trouble with update you still have old database and script version that running well.


Below step by step to update wordpress engine:
1. Backup your database and folder that contain your wordpress engine. You can use backup facility if your hosting control panel offer it.
2. Download the newest version of wordpress from wordpress site
3. Upload the content of the newest wordpress folder that you have been download.
4. Run www.yourblog.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php You must change www.yourblog.com with you blog url.
5. You will see Upgrade Wordpress Requied like this picture. Click on Upgrade Wordpress to continue. Please wait until the proccess finish



6. If success you will see that Your WordPress database has been successfully upgraded! Click Continue to continue



7. You will bring to admin page. You have to login if you are not logged before.
8. If your template offer you can see your wordpress version on footer or sidebar.
9. Congratulation.

If you are using Firefox you can install SearchStatus add-on to check google pagerank and alexa pagerank for the website that you are visit.

This tools is very simple in viewer, you can decide to see where the rank will be shown on your firefox. When you open website you will get information about page rank and alexa rank of the site. You can also highlight link with nofollow attribute.

If you want create backlink so this tool will help you to see what is website rank and if the website have nofollow attribute for another url or not.

One of many ways to boost your blog traffic is by adding good widget to your blog. By adding the widget people will visit your blog to use your widget and of course read you content. If your blog have good content so people do not mind to visit your blog.

Some good topic of widget to collet people visit are:
* PDF convertion tools
* Office tools
* Wheaters
* News
* Cartoons

If you are using blogspot you can choose many good widget from layout section. Or you can search on google with the specific topic add on for webmaster or blog.

Now many people join Do Follow movement and give comment on the do follow blog.. To join this movement is very simple, you just need to remove nofollow attribute on comment of your blog and tell the blog or site that have list of do follow blogs on their blog/site. You can search on google to know what the blog/site is.


By doing this you can also get traffic and also comment of your content for blogger who want their blog have higher pagerank. For your information Google will index website that don't have ofollow attribute on the link script. By default blog system will put nofollow script on the comment system so every link on the system will not indexed by Google.

By removing nofollow you must prepare getting huge comments on some article. Unfortunately some or maybe most of the comment just spam or one/two word comments like Good Article, thanks, etc.

So should I remove nofollow on my blog?

If you want to get many comments so this is one of good way. But if you just want to promote your blog, you can do in different way.

But if you still want to remove nofollow you can active moderation comment and approve only good comment. You can add notification that you just approve for good comment on your blog too.

It's easy to insert adsense code on blogger. Yeah it's so easy because now Google is the owner of blogger or blogspot. But how if you using Wordpress. It's so difficult to insert adsense code on Wordpress template. Maybe you can do that, but I'm sure you should have experience about coding.

So should I move my blog into blogger in order can show adsense code into my blog? Not necessary, you can use Adsense plugin and instal it into your Wordpress. With the plugin you can put adsense on every where place you like it.

For me I like use Wordpress with plugin to put Adsense than use blogger. Because you can put Adsense code every where you like it. You can put on header, sidebar, footer, and of course on your posting. Blogger can't do that. Blogger just can put adsense on the template not the posting.

But I still choose blogspot because Google own it and I love all tool from Google.
